The easiest way to achieve something is to make it a goal. They take something impossible and turn it into a reasonable series of steps. Simple tasks like cooking breakfast and getting to work on time count as goals. However, fitness goals are on another level. You need to be careful with them because there's little room for error. Here are three tips to ensure that your routine is headed in the right direction.
1. Pursue What Motivates You
The best way to stay motivated is to identify a goal and figure out how you're going to obtain it. It needs to be something that'll drive you forward.
"Get some water" counts as a goal, but it's not effective if it's too tame. Your goal needs to be something that you really want, or your motivation won't last.
2. Keep Them Attainable
When a beginner starts working out, they may aim for something like a six-pack or huge arms. While those things are attainable, getting them is no walk in the park.
Instead of aiming for the sun, go for the moon. Lots of people exercise with the intention of losing a few pounds, which is much easier to achieve. Then once you achieve that, you can move on and set a new, harder goal.
3. Make an Action Plan
How do you expect to get anything done if you don't know what to do before you get there? You don't just leap to the top of the staircase, do you? You take the steps.
